Giving organic roses is one of the most memorable ways to show you care. Organic Bouquet offers only sustainably grown roses online that are organic or ECO certified. Organic roses make an outstanding impression that goes beyond the impact of ordinary flowers. Each color has a specific symbolism associated with it, and choosing the perfect bouquet is easy when you know what they mean.

Red roses are the best known, and they are quite possibly the ones that are richest with symbolism. They primarily stand for romantic love, (perfect as Valentine's Day Roses) but they may also represent beauty, courage, respect, or congratulations. Dark red roses represent unconscious beauty, and a single red rose says "I love you." When unopened, the tiny buds are a symbol of the purest love. When the stems of two roses are woven together or taped together as one, they represent an anticipated engagement or marriage.

White roses are second in line when it comes to symbolism—they are so simple in appearance, but so complex in meaning. They can stand for purity, innocence, youth, humility, secrecy, reverence, or respect. They can also be used to express that you feel your loved one is "heavenly," and they are the traditional wedding flower as well.

Pink roses express grace, gentleness, gratitude, and admiration. Yellow roses are the flowers of friendship and new beginnings. Orange roses, like an orange flame, denote desire and enthusiasm. Peach roses signify sincerity, while lavender represents love at first sight. Black roses do not actually exist, but they are a symbol of farewell or death. Blue roses, like black roses, are fictional too, and as such they represent the unattainable or the impossible.

Today roses are the most popular flowers in the world, but in ancient times they were rare and sacred. In Egypt they were formed into wreaths to honor deceased loved ones in their tombs. The ancient Romans and Greeks associated roses with Venus and Aphrodite, their goddesses of love. Early Christians felt that the five petals of the rose were symbolic of the five wounds of Jesus Christ, and they later grew into a symbol of the Virgin Mary, who is said to have loved them. The cultivation of roses is believed to have begun in Northern Persia on the Caspian Sea or perhaps in Faristan on the Gulf of Persia. Today they are grown worldwide, and while they are certainly no longer rare, they are still highly valued by all who enjoy flowers.

Caring for cut roses is not complicated or difficult, but it is very precise. There are specific steps that lead to beautiful blooms. The first step is to remove any of the leaves that would be under the water line in the vase. Add warm water to the vase. Now hold each individual stem under running water, or under water in a container, while you cut an inch off the end of each stem with a sharp knife or scissors. Place the stems immediately into the vase after they've been cut. Place them in a cool dark place again (or back in the refrigerator) for a few hours before arranging them.
