This job is currently located in San Rafael, CA and may relocate to Petaluma, CA. Candidates should live within reasonable proximity to both San Rafael and Petaluma as telecommuting will not be considered for this position; however, domestic and international travel is expected 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Direct and develop all aspects of the accounting and finance department
• Perform Vendor Management and Accounting Platform renewal/setup functions
• Demonstrate independence, excellence and integrity in decision-making and business judgment
• Prepare monthly financial package for the directors and executive management
• Establish or recommend to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives and policies
• Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting financial investments and plans
• Provide management with reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities
• Establish financial reporting systems and controls to ensure accurate measurement of financial results and ensure sound internal controls
• Advise management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities
• Assist in preparing annual information needed to maintain adequate insurance coverage
• Arrange for annual reviews of company's accounts
• Oversee external audit planning and interface with the auditors as needed
• Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies
• Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions

Qualifications

• E-commerce, retail or catalog, experience preferred
• Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. MBA or CPA required
• 10-15 years experience in Finance/Accounting
• Possess strong knowledge of financial planning, accounting, strategic planning, contract management and risk assessment
• Sound technical skills and experience in financial reporting, forecasting, modeling and analysis, cash flow management with a strong operational focus
• Excellent ability to analyze risks and recommend controls to mitigate those risks
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Ability to make sound business decisions
• Strong consolidation and technical accounting experience
• Ability to perform hands-on tasks as well as think strategically
• Prior experience in multiple business operations or public accounting required
