Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist

This job is currently located in San Rafael, CA and may relocate to Petaluma, CA. Candidate must be able to work in both San Rafael and Petaluma.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify and post all invoices
• Maintain purchase order system
• Verify completed data entry activity to ensure 100% accuracy
• Prepares accounts payable checks
• Files open invoices and maintains summary of current accounts payable balance
• Responds to all vendor inquiries
• Prepares all 1099s
• Process payroll for locations in multi-states
• Responsible for day to day accounting activities including interacting with employees, customers and vendors.
• Performs other related duties as requested

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience with AP
• Minimum 2 years experience with payroll
• Fast and accurate data entry required.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of multi-state payroll tax processing.
• Paychex system knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge of Federal and California wage and hour laws.
• Knowledge of accounts payable principles, procedures and standards
• Knowledge of 2 way and 3 way matching of purchase orders
• QuickBooks experience a plus
• 10-key by touch
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
